What You’ll Bring to the Job
Are you a strategic thinker who loves creative writing, building relationships, and the thrill of securing media placements? If you’re a self-starter who likes to manage the full publicity process, including writing press releases, pitching to local, regional, and national media outlets, and looking for PR opportunities, this is the role for you. The position also includes managing social media accounts, including but not limited to content strategy and creation, copywriting, promotions, and analytics. Reporting to the Principals, you are a forward-thinking, enthusiastic self-starter with the creativity and proven expertise to drive meaningful results through strategic approaches, creative pitches, and outside-the-box ideas. You love to develop comprehensive PR strategies across platforms to maximize visibility for a portfolio of creative clients. Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of experience in public relations, a proven track record of successful pitch strategies, and strong examples of written content. What Your Job Will Entail
- Write press releases and pitches, as well as press materials, bios, fact sheets, editorial content, and media alerts.
- Cultivate strong media and client relationships.
- Develop strategic media lists based on client goals.
- Create, foster, and leverage media and influencer relationships to produce placements for our clients and increase exposure across platforms and channels (design media and influencers a plus).
- Understand editorial calendars and pitching timelines.
- Identify relevant opportunities for clients and schedule pitches accordingly.
- Strong knowledge of industry events and trade shows (design industry knowledge a plus).
- Align PR efforts with social media launches with content management and creation including copywriting, reels, hashtags, and monitoring community engagement.
- Frequent placement research and media tracking.
- Research award opportunities and manage submissions from start to finish.
- Manage client relationships and expectations.
- Manage project workflows, timelines, budgets, and resource management, ensuring strategies, deliverables, and timelines are met.
- Manage social media content calendars and translate all incoming opportunities from clients to a meaningful social strategy.
- Monitor daily community management and engagement across platforms.
- Image management and copywriting for social posts.
- Test, track, and evaluate results of digital marketing initiatives to ensure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, lead conversions, events, etc; determine ROI of initiatives then prioritize resources for continuous program improvement.
- Provide analysis of industry best practices and advise on modifications accordingly.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments on social media platforms and guide the team on the best utilization of these platforms.
- Paxson Fay is a fast-paced environment and the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects, and manage against deadlines is essential.
Position is hybrid, our office is based in Seattle, WA - WA residence preferred.
Full-time, pay DOE.

Requirements:Skills and Experience You’ll Need For This Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, or a related field.
- 4+ years experience at a communications, marketing, or PR agency.
- Established relationships with media (architecture and design media a plus).
- Proven ability to lead projects to success.
- Advanced writing, spelling, and grammar skills (editorial background a plus).
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and experience managing social media channels for clients (B2B experience a plus).
- Exemplary time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to interact successfully with diverse individuals at all levels and build effective partnerships.
- Manage multiple projects and timelines with stakeholders in a smooth and efficient manner.
- Strategic agility and big-idea thinking, combined with a willingness to dive in as needed to get the job done.
- Excellent project management skills and familiarity with programs such as Basecamp, Google Workspace, Google Analytics, and Dropbox.
- Working knowledge of Cision, Meltwater, Muckrack, Photoshop, and Indesign.
