About the Role

Donna Independent School District (TX) is seeking a highly skilled Communication Disorder Specialist to join our team. This role will involve providing essential speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders.

Key Responsibilities

As a Communication Disorder Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Therapy Services: Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students with communication disorders. Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress and determine readiness for therapy termination.
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students with speech or language disorders. Interpret observations and data to develop clinical management strategies and diagnostic statements.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with classroom teachers to plan and implement activities that promote effective communication skills in students.
  • Student Management and Support: Create a supportive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students.
  • Program Development and Evaluation: Establish and maintain a high-quality speech-language pathology program. Continuously evaluate and improve services based on assessment findings.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a Bachelor's degree with one year of supervised clinical experience in speech-language pathology.
  • A valid Texas license as a speech-language pathologist or a valid Texas Education Agency speech therapy certificate.
  • The ability to administer standardized tests and measurements to assess communication disorders.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations as assigned.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
