Job Title: Bookkeeper

Location: Skokie, IL (Hybrid work)

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Skokie, IL. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and reconciling bank statements. This position will involve a combination of in-office and remote work, offering flexibility and work-life balance.

Bookkeeper job responsibilities:

The bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and managing accounts payable.
Entering all invoices and payables into QuickBooks Desktop
Processing weekly reimbursement requests.
Organizing and maintaining all accounting files.
Issuing weekly check runs and entering weekly payroll journals.
Maintain accurate financial records by researching and resolving any financial discrepancies.
Present weekly accounts payable reports by aging to ensure timely review/resolution of any invoices outstanding.
Reconcile monthly bank statements.
Entering General journal entries.
Prepare weekly financial reports for managements review.
Assist Tax Accountants with tax filings.
Ensure accurate tracking and recording of expenses.
Monitor and analyze business expenses and revenue, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
Management of all vendor accounts, managing inquiries and resolving any accounting discrepancies or issues.
Other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements and skills:

3-4 years’ experience with QuickBooks
Experience with Paycom
Highly organized, self-motivated, detail oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy.
The ability to work independently and with a team.
The ability to self-organize/prioritize projects and day to day tasks.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounts payable preferred, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of standard accounting principles and practices.
