Duties
As a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS ACTION OFFICER (AUTOMATION) at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Lead global situational awareness (SA) maintenance by fusing the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J) Family of Programs, Agile Client, JC2 CUI, multiple internal and external data sources, and leadership input into an aggregated SA picture that can support providing input to decision-making processes and provision of military advice.Directly supervise several civilian personnel providing mission-oriented business process support and a few employees in the Current Operations Division day staff providing information technology and knowledge management support.Identifies developmental and training needs of subordinate employees with emphasis on integrating information systems related knowledge, skills, abilities, and identifying requirements, plans for, organizes, and distributes personnel resources.Supervise data from combatant commands and developing and executing tactics, techniques, and procedures for integrating these concepts and associated initiatives with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for joint and multinational task forces, concepts of operations, employment, and task messages.Exercises overall responsibility for the formulation, development, administration and execution of NJOIC information systems objectives, policies, programs, and projects for the Current Operations Division.Management and information technology systems staff adviser and consultant for the current operations division, establishes and maintains personal contacts with senior leadership along with key stakeholders in the Defense Information Systems Agency, Combatant Commands and Services, and other higher echelons within the Joint Staff.Develops timely, relevant, and accurate information in making informed decisions and provide the best military advice to the Secretary of Defense, National Security Council, and the President.Provides primary Joint Staff surge capacity for real-world crisis response, tracking, and senior leader information flow.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentMust be a U.S. citizenMales born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective ServiceResume and supporting documents (See How To Apply)Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigationMay be required to successfully complete a probationary periodWork Schedule: Full TimeOvertime: OccasionallyTour of Duty: FlexibleRecruitment Incentives: May be AuthorizedFair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): ExemptFinancial Disclosure: Not RequiredTelework Eligibility: This position is NOT telework eligibleEmployee must obtain/maintain a Special Sensitive (Top Secret/SCI) security clearance.Must have DOD IA certification or obtain certification within six months of employment date.During Crisis Management Team activation, must be able to run around-the-clock shift operations. Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Knowledge over management and IT planning and coordination efforts to develop and deliver systems and services that are responsive to the needs of operations teams.Ability to respond to current and future mission requirements through the optimal delivery of knowledge management and IT systems and services.Experience exercising full discretion in regards to methods, procedures, and approaches to accomplish mission objectives; performs long-range planning anticipating changes in the workload or projects; assesses the impact that new policies, decreased resources, and/or new program emphases would have on operations/staffing; and implements depot goals and objectives.Experience independently exercising initiative and judgment in planning, managing, and coordinating the various mission activities.
