Summary You will serve as the Deputy Environmental Director at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Headquarters at the Washington Navy Yard
Duties
• You will serve as a senior civilian Environmental Professional/subject matter expert responsible for supporting the development, management and execution of environmental products and services across the NAVFAC enterprise worldwide.
• You will function as a Community Leader for approximately 1,800 environmental professionals across NAVFAC worldwide, providing community management, workforce development, resources and oversight.
• You will facilitate discussions and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help achieve Navy priorities.
• You will directly supervise subordinate supervisors and department support personnel, assisting subordinates with problems, usually involving the most complex environmental matters.
• You will assist in the establishment of metrics and other performance measurements to define how well policy, systems, processes and tools are serving to accomplish program goals and objectives.
• You will help oversee, approve and submit resource requirements as part of Navy's budgeting process - the Program Objectives Memorandum.
• You will solicit and consolidate input from environmental managers across NAVFAC to develop and implement program-wide improvements and initiatives

You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics

Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Overseeing the delivery of environmental products and services (e.g
environmental compliance, environmental restoration, environmental planning and conservation programs, etc.); 2) Identifying and advocating for necessary resources (budgets, manpower) to implement a complex environmental program; 3) Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve environmental outcomes; and 4) Leading efforts to resolve highly complex and/or controversial environmental issues
