Duties * You will assist with all matters pertaining to the supervision, management, and oversight of the Department of Navy's Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act programs. * You will provide guidance throughout the Department of Navy, DoD, and other federal agencies regarding Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act issues. * You will respond to external and internal inquiries regarding the Privacy Act an Freedom of Information Act programs. * You will ensure appropriate Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act records are created and maintained through organized handling, filing, retrieving, and protecting. * You will provide reports related to oversight bodies and ensure compliance with the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) * You will ensure an accurate administrative record and expedite a coordinated response for each assigned case. * You will manage privacy complaints, breech reports, requests and maintain official administrative record of all actions. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. * Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying knowledge of the provisions for the Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act, other information access laws, Executive Orders, and statues to resolve complex problems and issues; 2) Analyzing and interpreting civil laws and court decisions affecting policies and procedures regarding the Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act; 3) Managing internal programs to ensure policies, procedures, and standards are in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act provisions; 4) Articulating ideas effectively through written and oral communication; and 5) Analyzing and resolving complex problems and issues.
