Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Submarine Work Packaging and Control (WPC) Branch (225), Process Control Division (220), Office of the Chief Engineer (240), Engineering and Planning Department (200), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Duties * You will manage establishment of schedule priorities for Project Zone Managers, need dates for in-shop fabrication work, and material delivery requirements. * You will oversee the WPC Manager to ensure completion of work packages, providing for the accomplishment of the work of the availability. * You will manage the work packaging function, ensuring problems are resolved and delays are overcome for all aspects of work packaging and job preparation. * You will identify, package and assemble all work documentation, equipment, special tools and materials to meet schedules. * You will review material request forms as necessary, verify status including delivery dates and location material. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. * Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101. * You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience utilizing production methods, technical procedures, funding principles and procedures, and materials and equipment required for shipyard maintenance, repair and overhaul of complex Navy vessels.
* Experience planning and managing work schedule, cost, material and technical work instructions to accomplish project mission.
* Experience preventing production delays, scheduling conflict and the lack of sufficient materials and instructions.
* Experience reading and interpreting TWDs, drawings, process instructions, specifications, Corporate Nuclear Power manuals, technical manuals and standards, and work request documents.
* Experience working with engineering codes, supply personnel, trade journeymen and supervisors, as well as project managers and shop superintendents.
* Experience utilizing shipyard Management Information System (MIS) including: AIM, Project Scheduling System (PSS), Supervisor Desk (SUPDESK), Material Access Technology (MAT), Material Requirement (MRQT), and various network services on the shipyard LAN network.Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:
