ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN with Security Clearance

Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Technical Support Branch (282), Expanded Planning Yard Division (280), Office of the Chief Engineer (24), Engineering and Planning Department (200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Duties * You will plan, estimate, schedule, control and coordinate the engineering efforts required for the accomplishment of complete design projects on nuclear and non-nuclear naval ships. * You will initiate the modification or cancellation of job orders. * You will review and evaluate data supporting or authorizing engineering work. * You will perform engineering analysis of the data obtaind through personal contact with customers Requirements Conditions of Employment * Must be a US Citizen. * Must be determined suitable for federal employment. * Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. * New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying mechanical, electrical and structural engineering theories, principles, methods, techniques to the operation of assigned ship system; Experience setting and altering work priorities based on workload and identifying project specific events and milestones; Experience utilizing shipyard production methods to accomplish work; Experience planning work to be accomplished by subordinates and establishing priorities and timetables.
