What you will do as a CAD Designer:
  • Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (such as AutoCAD and Inventor) to generate 2D and 3D drawings, plans, and elevations based on design requirements and specifications provided by engineers and design team
  • Collaborate closely with Estimators, Project Managers, and Design Engineers to understand design intent and incorporate necessary modifications into drawings
  • Participate in design reviews to provide input on manufacturability, feasibility, and potential improvements to design
  • Review and revise drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to guidelines
  • Perform thorough quality checks on drawings to identify and rectify any errors or inconsistencies
  • Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Engineering, Estimating, and Project Management to address queries and clarify design specifications
  • Work within established project timelines to ensure that drawings are completed and delivered according to project schedules
What you need to be a CAD Designer:
  • Possess a strong understanding of stainless-steel sheet metal properties and fabrication processes
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings
  • Ability to review and interpret architectural drawings
  • Ability to read and understand written specs provided by customers
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes, regulations, and standards
