Power and Controls division of Collins Aerospace is growing and looking for an Associate Director on the CSCL Team (Collins Management System Supply Chain Lead) team.

The successful candidate will be the supply chain lead for the Electric Power Systems (EPS) CSCL team, primarily supporting our Rockford, Illinois operations. This role is the leader of a team of supply chain professionals, each assigned to support EPS products. As such they will own and develop the supply chain strategy and performance for the site and be the conduit into supply chain for other functions. The EPS CSCL lead will assist the team in assessing historical trends and analyze the current environment, as well as develop and stay connected to a broad network across P&C to quickly receive and assimilate recent developments to anticipate, mitigate, and prevent supply chain risks. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate cross-functional teams including supply chain, operations, engineering, quality, and value stream across Power & Controls to identify root cause of supply chain issues and execute both short- and long-term solutions.

In addition to leading and developing a mid-size team of professionals, this role will also develop the supply chain strategy and operational goals tied to site supply chain performance and future growth, as well as develop and implement new processes, standards, and operational plans to support the strategy.

Essential to this role are strong communication skills; a polished, professional presence; analytical capability; proven sound judgement; excellent business acumen; a focused sense of urgency; mastery of project management; and a high degree of self-sufficiency, as it is the forward-facing supply chain individual responsible for the end-to-end supply chain performance.

The position supports work that covers a variety of shifts in a 24-hour/seven-day schedule, as such, there may be a need to support work on occasional nights and / or weekends.

What You Will Do

  • Manage team of 6-8 professionals
  • Thorough understanding of: your site’s key products, critical parts, barriers to delivery, historical challenges and trends, internal and external factors impacting supply chain (planning methodologies, customer restrictions, industrial and global economic impacts), key customer care-abouts relative to supply chain, etc., in order to be regarded as the foremost expert on your site’s supply chain and use this knowledge to inform the supply chain strategy.
  • Manage multiple concurrent supply chain critical issues, work with relevant parties to prioritize, determine root cause, devise solutions, execute, and mitigate impact; ensure stakeholders are kept informed of key developments
  • Employ change management practices to instigate initiatives, optimize processes, and embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization and along the value stream.
  • Create and execute a robust supply chain strategy for your plant site; improve your site’s supply chain performance
  • Lead cross-functional teams in evaluating existing supplier processes and identifying and executing improvement opportunities in alignment with organizational goals and improvement target and support occasional supplier visits
  • Present to executives both internally and at our external customers
  • Develop, analyze, and utilize appropriate metrics to measure and improve your site’s supply chain performance
  • Support of monthly sales & operations planning
  • Provide guidance and training, mentor and equip team members, business leaders, and staff with practical expertise

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience  
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • SAP Proficiency
  • Mastery of project management and leading collaborative, cross-functional teams
  • Adept at reading and understanding drawings and other technical documents
  • 3 years Finance experience
  • Substantial experience with root cause/ corrective action analysis (RCCA)
  • Familiarity with metals raw materials industry, processing, bar stock, etc.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
