Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Process Engineer – 3rd Shift, the individual in this role will serve as a 3rd shift manufacturing support engineer for the RF Components production wafer foundry. The 3rd shift consists of 40 hours per week, with an option to follow either 8 hours x 5 days weekly or the 9/80 schedule. The 3rd shift is an overnight shift (Sunday night through Thursday night, 10pm to 6am) with some flexibility possible. Principle Process Engineer responsibilities include performing process and equipment qualifications, diagnosing out of control SPC events, dispositioning wafers, providing solutions, and implementing corrective actions to equipment and/or process conditions.

In this role, this individual analyzes questionable WIP for acceptance, scrap, and non-conformance then subsequently dispositions WIP based on process knowledge and product requirements. This individual also will be responsible to train personnel, in order to perform operational tasks. The chosen candidate will be expected to work with engineers in various areas of wafer fabrication and process development on next generation technologies. An understanding of basic semiconductor processing and cleanroom experience is desired.

This role will be 100% on-site and based in Andover, MA.

What You Will Do:

  • Disposition of WIP in the assigned work center, to support foundry metrics such as scrap, rework, cycle time, etc.
  • Support execution of DOEs for process development and tool qualification efforts.
  • Act independently with some guidance, to uncover and resolve issues stemming from SPC failures, process excursions, broken wafers, etc.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 5 years’ of prior work experience OR an Advanced degree in a related field and a minimum 3 years’ of prior work experience.
  • Experience with semiconductor device structures and their electrical characteristics.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Experience with statistical process control and lean manufacturing methods.
  • Experience working in a FAB / clean room lab environment.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with semiconductor processing tools and techniques (e.g., photolithography, wet etching, dry etching, thin films or metals disposition, metrology tools, and/or automated inspection systems).
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and WIP management techniques.
  • Experience with executing project work and root cause analysis to address yield improvements and rework reduction efforts.
  • Experience providing operator training and conducting certification evaluation processes.
  • Experience creating, documenting, and maintaining work instructions.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control and related SPC software.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
