We are seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our dynamic team in the energy infrastructure sector. The ideal candidate will act as the primary fire protection point of contact for our expansion and sustaining projects, providing essential technical support and expertise. This role involves developing fire protection scopes of work, assisting with cost estimates, reviewing design documents, and addressing technical inquiries. Additionally, you will support day-to-day fire protection concerns, conduct facility fire risk analyses, help create policies, and provide training.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Serve as the main fire protection liaison for project teams focused on expansion and sustaining initiatives.
  • Scope Development: Develop comprehensive fire protection scopes of work tailored to various projects.
  • Cost Estimation: Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for fire protection systems and components.
  • Design Review: Review and analyze design documents to ensure compliance with fire protection standards and regulations.
  • Technical Inquiries: Address daily inquiries related to fire protection, including code compliance and system troubleshooting.
  • Meetings: Participate in project meetings, providing expert fire protection guidance and support.
  • Risk Analysis: Collaborate with the Lead Fire Protection Engineer on facility fire risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Policy Creation: Engage in the development and implementation of fire protection policies and procedures.
  • Training: Conduct training sessions on fire protection systems, codes, and best safety practices.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal fire protection codes and regulations.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering Technology, or an alternate engineering degree (e.g., Industrial or Mechanical Engineering) with documented fire protection experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial fire protection engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of fire protection codes and standards (e.g., NFPA), hands-on experience with fire protection systems, and proficiency in relevant software tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities effectively.
