Safety and Training Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to company and regulatory policies, including federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Evaluate hazards within the facility for safety, health, and environmental risks, recommending improvements.
  • Lead accident and injury investigations, manage OSHA 300 log, and handle worker’s compensation in partnership with HR.
  • Monitor cross-training with the training matrix and recommend/execute training plans with supervisors.
  • Maintain hourly education/training records for all employees with training matrix and reports.
  • Conduct all employee training on safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Develop, organize, and conduct presentations and training programs.
  • Evaluate existing health and safety procedures and programs, developing new ones as necessary.
  • Develop inspection policies and establish regular inspection schedules.
  • Plan and execute annual education plans within the budget.
  • Lead the facility Safety Team.


Safety and Training Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree and 2 years of safety experience in manufacturing/distribution, or 4 years in a safety role in manufacturing/distribution.
  • 2 years of experience in a training coordination/leadership capacity.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements.
  • Ability to interact with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Understanding of worker’s compensation and liability insurance claims.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
