Field Investigator

Position Summary
In this role, you will assist in helping to investigate a variety of case types; however, most of the work for this position will involve civil investigations for both plaintiff and defense firms. It is anticipated that this position will include both office and field work with an emphasis on the field work and would include assignments requiring regular travel throughout all of Southern CA.
The primary anticipated responsibilities will include witness interviews, discovery assistance (helping individuals complete legal paperwork), scene canvasses etc. Please note that the actual responsibilities for this position may vary, depending on the prospective employee’s skill set, experience, and strengths, as well as on the company’s case load.
While a licensed private investigator’s license is preferred, it is not a requirement & this position can help you qualify to become a CA Licensed Private Investigator.
Responsibilities
- Conduct subject and witness interviews for workplace and jury conduct investigations.
- Investigate insurance accident and injury claims.
- Canvas accident sites and crime scenes.
- Complete legal discovery for a variety of cases (missing persons, wrongful death, etc).
- Preserve and identify physical evidence for cases.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience (i.e., working as an investigator, in law enforcement, paralegal, etc.).
- A college degree in a relevant field (i.e., Criminal Justice, Psychology, Communications, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual applicants will be given preference.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
About the Job
This is a 40-hour-a-week position to be worked out of our Riverside (Jurupa Valley) location, with daily travel throughout Southern CA. The bulk of the hours would be M-F during the core hours of the day, but some night/weekend work may be necessary to complete urgent assignments/ assignments that must be done at odd hours. There is not OT every day but based on the case load and/or the urgency of the files that you are working on, there are times when working OT will be necessary. Your pay will be based on your level of experience and your skill set but is anticipated to be in the $28-$35 per hour range.
