Role Description

The Director of Training at Off The Hook will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful onboarding and ongoing development of our team members across all locations. This individual will be responsible for designing comprehensive training programs, implementing effective training strategies, and providing support during new store openings. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, a strong understanding of restaurant operations, and the ability to inspire and motivate others to deliver excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

Training Program Development:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify training needs and objectives.
  • Develop engaging and informative training materials, including manuals, guides, and presentations.
  • Customize training programs to align with Off The Hook's brand standards and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices in food safety and service standards.

Training Implementation:

  • Coordinate training sessions for new hires and existing team members, both in-person and virtually.
  • Conduct training sessions on various topics, including menu knowledge, customer service, and operational procedures.
  • Utilize a variety of training methods, such as role-playing, demonstrations, and interactive exercises, to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through feedback mechanisms and performance assessments.

New Store Openings:

  • Provide leadership and support during the opening of new Off The Hook locations.
  • Assist in staffing new stores by recruiting and training management and hourly employees.
  • Ensure that all team members are adequately trained on company policies, procedures, and standards prior to the grand opening.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to troubleshoot any training-related issues and implement corrective actions as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and innovative training methods.
  • Regularly review and update training materials to reflect changes in processes, products, or regulations.
  • Solicit feedback from stakeholders and incorporate suggestions for improvement into training programs.
  • Analyze training metrics and performance data to identify areas for enhancement and optimization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a training or leadership role within the restaurant industry, preferably in quick-casual or fast-casual dining.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including food safety protocols, management, and guest service standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in curriculum development, instructional design, and training delivery.
  • Flexible schedule, with the ability to travel to different locations for training and new store openings.
  • Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe) and training facilitation (e.g., ASTD) is a plus.
