Direct Sales Representative

Hybrid, Chicago, IL

Position Summary:


The Direct Sales Representative will leverage direct prospecting and industry networking along with lead generation initiatives to create and maintain a consistent sales pipeline. In this role, the Sales Executive will need to show instinctive skills in understanding a customer’s business model and analytic needs, and how Data and Analytics can best support those needs, and how best to position those solutions.



The primary responsibilities related to sales process are listed below:



  • Create and maintain and consistent sales pipeline through direct prospecting and industry networking
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, assigned inside sales resources, and analytic experts in lead generation, deal scoping, and value selling activities.
  • Efficiently qualify sales opportunities as to their fit for BHI and likelihood of closure.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of potential buyers including C-level executives, product line leaders, Data Scientists, etc.
  • Structure and negotiate business terms and contracts with line-of-business, procurement, senior management and/or C-level executives.
  • Enter all activities and opportunities in Salesforce.com. Keep all Salesforce.com information current at all times.
  • For assigned sales, execute each phase of those sales to closure.



Essential Education, Skills and Environment Requirements:



  • Executive presence in order to position yourself and your BHI team mates as trusted advisors and a value added part of the sales process.
  • Demonstrated success in selling consulting engagements or similar consultative sales.
  • Ability to collaborate with customers in creating data sets and analytics that address their questions
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Statistics, Finance, Economics, or Healthcare related subject area.
  • Sales experience selling custom data products or consulting services in one or more of the Provider, Life Sciences, Healthcare Analytics, or Federal Healthcare Agency healthcare market segments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in sales pipeline management and tracking, as well as sales process management.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and presentation skills.
  • Curiosity, a love of learning, and a drive to succeed.
  • Self-directed
