Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Platform Engineering to lead our team in designing, developing, and maintaining robust integration solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership skills to drive the architecture, implementation, and optimization of our overall integration platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity within the Global Technology Data & Analytics team for an experienced technology leader to help shape the how systems should be integrated to share the data across the board to support digital transformation to the entire McDonalds environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Live McDonald’s values: Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, and Family. Provide strategic direction and leadership to a team of integration platform engineers. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Platform Architecture: Lead platform-as- product development with customer-centric mindset. Define and drive the architectural roadmap for integration platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in integration technologies, including API management, ESB, event streaming, managed file transfer, microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, etc.
  • Project Management: Manage the SDLC process of integration projects from conception through implementation and post-launch support.
  • Stakeholder Management: Influence senior executives and set expectations for cross-functional initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, product development, and business units to understand requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with integration platform vendors and service providers including global and offshore contracting teams
  • Process and operation efficiency: Drive initiatives to optimize performance and efficiency, including building fully automated infrastructure as service, DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines, test automation and proactive monitoring and observability. Establish best practices, standards, and processes for integration development and operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree or 6+ years of relevant work experience with a master's degree
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, including leading engineering teams in large-scale system implementations with Agile methodology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a customer-centric and results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong knowledge of integration technologies such as API Gateways, messaging systems (e.g. Kafka), Managed File transfer and etc.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to mentor and develop technical teams.
