Summary:


The primary role of the Project Lead/Manager in Direct Material Procurement and Supply Chain is to oversee the sourcing and resource management of iron castings and machined iron castings, from quotation through to production. This involves coordination across various engineering, financial, and developmental projects.


Job Responsibilities:

- Manage the sourcing and transitioning of complex iron casting and machining projects.

- Oversee the entire quotation process and perform thorough total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses.

- Coordinate with Category Buyers, Supplier Development Engineers, and Design Engineers to ensure adherence to quality standards, volume requirements, and supplier readiness.

- Monitor buffer inventory and manage tool relocations related to supplier changes.

- Prepare and present project updates and outcomes to stakeholders.

Skills Required:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Proficient in negotiation, with keen attention to detail.

- Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals, and technical data.

- Competence in documenting and recording customer/client information.

- Basic mentoring skills to provide support and performance feedback.

- Advanced knowledge of purchasing laws and regulations.

- Profound understanding of supply chain management.

- Proficient with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and database management systems. Experience with Power BI or Tableau is a plus.


Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 8 years' experience in Purchasing, Casting, Machining, Engineering, Project Management, New Product Introduction, Supply Chain, Supplier Management, or Quality.
