Demand Planning Manager

The Demand Planning Manager works closely with the operations, distribution and accounting teams to provide an accurate sales forecast to ensure materials are procured in time for production and maintain excellent order fill rates. The Demand Planning Manager will analyze historical shipments, sell-through and seasonality of each product to ensure optimal production schedules to meet consumer demand. Additionally, the position will analyze if forecasts are reasonable given past product performance. The Demand Planning Manager will also be responsible for maintaining inventory levels at all depots. We are looking for a team-oriented person with solid analytical and problem-solving skills


Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyses trends, seasonality and establishes weekly spread per item and market area, for each customer group
  • Establishes forecast planning schedules
  • Ensures accuracy of forecasts
  • Establishes forecasting templates for new items
  • Presents forecast drafts for review and approval by COO
  • Maintains and updates customer advertisements plans, roll out schedule, and monitors ad item availability with Inventory Supervisor to expose any shortages. Initiates action to correct any shortages.
  • Collaborates with Inventory Supervisor on contract grown items to ensure availability meets sales plan on weekly basis
  • Prepares weekly corporate sales reports
  • Prepares ad hoc plan vs. actual analyses
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels at all depots


Demand Planning Manager Qualifications/Skills:

  • Leadership and management
  • Strategic planning and forecasting

  • Execllent verbal and written communication
  • Excel & Google sheets (Proficient)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solving
  • Analytical sales operations or accounting/financial analysis experience
  • Experience with MS Excel at an advanced level
  • Strong planning, organizing and project management skills with focus on meeting deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage ever-changing priorities
  • Ability to daily work cross-departmentally in an even-keeled manner


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with inventory management software and forecasting strategies.
  • Experience conducting tracking and data analysis.
  • Product and inventory management certification a plus.
