Job Title: Senior Manager, Quality Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Quality Engineering to join our team at Nordson Corporation. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards for our products manufactured at our facilities in East Providence, RI and Norwich, CT.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain end-to-end quality assurance systems and production processes to ensure high-quality and safe products.
  • Provide leadership to a team of quality engineers and quality control supervisors to execute on Nordson EFD's quality strategy.
  • Hire, mentor, and provide guidance to the team to cultivate a collaborative and inclusive environment that achieves industry-leading quality performance and maintains a customer-centric focus.
  • Develop and apply quality control plans, test and inspection methods, statistical analysis methods, root cause analysis methods, FMEA's, and standardize processes to continuously improve quality performance.
  • Refine quality data collection systems and implement visual management boards to analyze and track quality performance and prevent escalations.
  • Manage quality escalations with customers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of industry quality standards and effectively apply quality management system (ISO 9001:2015) within the broader organization.
  • Facilitate and lead ISO audits, internal audits, customer audits, and safety audits.
Requirements:
  • 10 years' QA system implementation and administration experience, preferably on injection molded and electro-mechanical products in a ISO 9000 manufacturing setting with 5 years of people management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, understanding of quality tools (control charts, process capability, MSA, Pareto charts, etc.) and knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (8D, PDCA, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced lean principles and methods (Lean 6-Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Rapid Improvement Events) and Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System, audit certification preferred.
  • ASQ CMQ/OE, CQE, or CQA certification is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal capabilities, ability to concisely escalate issues and have difficult conversations.
  • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines daily.
  • Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical engineering preferred).
