Key Responsibilities for Senior Accountant:

  • Accounts Receivable Management:

    • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts receivable function, including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations.
    • Monitor and review aging reports to identify overdue accounts and take appropriate action to resolve outstanding balances.
    • Develop and implement effective collection strategies to reduce days sales outstanding (DSO) and improve cash flow.

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare and review detailed accounts receivable reports, including aging reports, cash receipts forecasts, and reconciliation summaries.
    • Analyze accounts receivable data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
    • Provide regular updates and insights to senior management regarding accounts receivable performance and issues.

  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding billing inquiries, payment issues, and account reconciliations.
    • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate prompt payment and address any billing concerns.

  • Process Improvement:

    • Evaluate and enhance accounts receivable processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and implement best practices.

  • Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain accurate and organized records of accounts receivable transactions and communications.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accountants and accounts receivable staff.
    • Assist in training new team members and fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or related accounting roles, with a proven track record in managing AR functions.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and best practices in accounts receivable management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on client relationship management.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
