Leadership Development Program Overview

The Operations - Manufacturing Development Program (ODP) offers a robust opportunity for business and engineering graduates who share our commitment to defining and delivering world-class manufacturing processes and products. This rotational program is designed to accelerate your development by exposing you to Polaris Operations through a variety of critical assignments and targeted training.

Through your business rotations, you will be given challenging assignments to accelerate your career development for future positions of significant responsibility. The variety of work gives you an introduction to what working at Polaris is all about and helps you decide where you can best apply your interests to meet the company's needs. During this program, you will also establish mentor relationships with our business leadership that will continue throughout your career with Polaris. Polaris provides the resources, support, and environment you need to achieve both personal and professional success in this role.

Program Length: 2 Years
Rotation Length: 6 Months (4X)
Placement Locations could Include: Osceola, WI; Roseau, MN; Spirit Lake, IA; Huntsville, AL; Wyoming, MN; Plymouth, MN; Battle Ground, WA; Wilmington, OH; Vermillion, SD and other potential locations.

Areas you will gain exposure to in your rotations include:
  • Experience a variety of operations roles early in career, including the areas of: Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, Lean, Quality, Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Purchasing, Sourcing, Materials, and/or Logistics.
  • Grow your project management skills through planning, leading and executing key assignments that track directly to the business goals and drive solutions to real-world business problems
  • Have the autonomy to bring innovative solutions to the table that will have the ability to advance Polaris' manufacturing processes including the opportunity to develop leadership capabilities through a supervisory or related role
  • Work as a team cross-functionally monitor product and process performance to improve quality and drive down overall costs for the company while providing optimal customer centric products for Polaris
  • Participate in technical training courses and projects that will help you to enhance your operations core competencies as well as Early Talent hosted training to grow personally and professionally


Upon completion of the Development Program, you may transition into a full-time Manufacturing Operations-related position within the business, contingent on business needs and the skills and experience you demonstrate during the program.

The Selection Process:

Applications will be open from September to December 2024. If selected, you will participate in a MS Teams panel interview with an HR leader and two functional business leaders. Upon accepting an offer, in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 (depending on your graduation date), you will collaborate with the Early Talent team to be matched with your first rotational assignment, team, and location through a thorough matching process. This process begins with the Early Talent Team providing guidance on the matching process and completing a Brand Slide. The Brand Slide, tailored to your specific program, provides insights to the team and assists in identifying the most suitable rotation aligned with your strengths, areas for development, interests, and business needs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Applied Engineering Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or other related field, with a graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Must be willing to travel and relocate between sites for your rotations, as well as be mobile beyond the rotational program to support your career development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint.
  • Active leadership experience in student organizations and/or work experiences with interest to continue to grow your leadership skills.

  • Previous Internship/Co-op experience
  • Previous leadership experience in work, organizations, or classroom
