Position Overview – The focus of this position will be to assist in adding functionality to the proprietary software in a continued hybrid environment of on-premises data and cloud data. The data backing the on-premises software is leveraging cloud data, which requires some automated data flow development and maintenance. The software developer is also responsible for software development using various programming languages and related tools/frameworks to fix bugs, perform code maintenance, and develop new features. The software developer is responsible for exposing data in usable/reportable formats to be used in data management and data analysis. The software developer will work with various teams within the company, which will require clear, explicit communication between teams with different priorities and needs. The software developer is also expected to meet deadlines with minimal oversight.


Primary Responsibilities

·        Development of proprietary, web-based client management and analytics tool (will require ASP.NET MVC, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL Server, IIS)

·        Development of reporting tools to allow more access to data (will require knowledge of tools like Power BI)

·        Collaborate with team members on developing and improving existing investment research tools

·        Communicate with involved parties on project progress and deadlines

·        Proactively contribute ideas regarding existing and new software tools

·        Learn and understand the company’s investment philosophy and client-first mentality


Qualifications/Skills

·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field

·        7+ years programming experience, including but not limited to:

  • Extensive experience in SQL Server (required)
  • Extensive experience in a fundamental, object-oriented language C# (required)
  • ASP.NET MVC, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Web Applications, web API and IIS (required)
  • Excel applications

·        Power BI or other like reporting tools

·        Experience with project management tools like Azure DevOps

·        Experience with source control tools including Git

·        Demonstrated independent project management

·        Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 

·        Problem assessment and resolution

·        Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics

·        Organized with a strong attention to detail and able to perform multiple tasks efficiently

·        Ability to manage and process complex operational work, demonstrating flexibility to changing priorities

·        Self-directed with the ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks

·        Financial industry experience preferred, but not required
