Join a values-driven firm where you'll have fun while solving complex and interesting business challenges.We are currently seeking a Technical Accounting Senior Manager to be part of our Business Risk Services (BRS) practice. The Technical Accounting Consulting group (TAC) within BRS assists clients with addressing complex accounting and financial reporting issues. For example, TAC is helping clients implement the new revenue standard (ASC Topic 606) and the new lease standard (ASC Topic 842). We also address other complex issues, such as business combination, consolidation under variable interest entity guidance, debt and equity instruments, and stock-based compensation arrangements. Individuals who thrive at Moss Adams exhibit the following success skills Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Executive Presence, Growth Mindset, Intellectual Curiosity, and Results Focus.Responsibilities:Manage multiple concurrent engagements within the Technical Accounting Consulting (TAC) practice to provide technical accounting and financial or business advisory guidance to clientsDemonstrate intermediate to advanced knowledge of complex accounting conceptsCollaborate directly with firm specialists/subject matter experts on complex accounting mattersAssist in the preparation of technical memos and other client deliverablesSupervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors on engagement teamsOversee engagement economics and manage appropriate resources for efficient engagement modelsAnticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise; identify performance improvement opportunitiesDevelop others within the TAC practice through mentoring, training and advising on career development or participating in other Firm initiativesProvide conversion services around financial reporting to GAAP or IFRSQualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required; Master's degree preferredCPA, CIA, CISA and/or similar certification required. If not certified, must meet educational requirements to obtain license upon hire in state of employment7 years of experience in public accounting or providing complex technical accounting advice with a public accounting or consulting firm requiredStrong current knowledge in US GAAP, IFRS, SEC financial reporting, bankruptcies, business combinations and consolidations, divestures, financial instruments, detailed revenue analysis and revenue recognition, foreign currency, spin-offs, carve-outs, IPOs, debt offerings and other acquisition filingsPrior experience working with valuation experts to assess the impact and reporting of valuation eventsPrior experience writing accounting position papersStrong interest in technical accounting research with a desire to learn and become a technical accounting expertStrong executive presence and experience working with executive level clientsAbility to work as part of a team for larger engagementsAbility to travel up to 30%Here, you'll be challenged and rewarded for leadership, technical excellence, and inspired perspectives.
