Production Manager

Education/Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Continuous Improvement Expertise: Proficient in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies.
- Leadership Experience: 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a fast-paced Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing environment.
Summary:
- Cost Improvement Strategies: Lead initiatives to drive cost savings and efficiency using Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Production Scheduling: Collaborate with the planning department to develop and refine production schedules, ensuring alignment with internal and external demands.
- Team Engagement: Cultivate a positive and productive working environment by maintaining clear communication, visibility, and active involvement with team members to optimize safety, employee engagement, productivity, and throughput.
- Leadership and Development: Mentor and guide supervisors in coaching and developing their teams, making employment decisions, and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Preventative Maintenance Coordination: Partner with Maintenance Department leadership to plan and implement preventative maintenance on production lines to minimize downtime.
- Performance Reporting: Analyze and report on production metrics, including output, downtime, attendance, overtime, and quality checks, and present findings to the Plant Manager.
- Budget and Forecast Collaboration: Work closely with the Plant Director and Planning Department to develop and manage the Production Department budget and forecast.
- Process and Quality Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance production methods, improve equipment performance, and elevate product quality.
- Capital Equipment Justification: Prepare justifications for capital investments in equipment upgrades and process technology to boost quality, reduce costs, and improve cycle times.
- Efficiency Optimization: Recommend changes to working conditions and equipment usage to maximize departmental efficiency.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work seamlessly with other departments to consistently meet customer deadlines.
- Safety Leadership: Collaborate with plant leadership to promote and maintain a world-class safety culture, adhering to the highest safety standards.
- Inventory and Supplier Management: Coordinate with raw material planners to ensure inventory levels match production schedules and address supplier quality issues proactively to prevent customer shortages.
- Quality Partnership: Work closely with the Quality Department to prevent and resolve issues related to Non-Conforming Finished Goods and Non-Conforming Raw Materials.
