Overview:

As an Enterprise Architect (EA), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the enterprise architecture framework aligned with the principles of TOGAF or Zachman. Your primary focus will be integrating various facets of the organization, including business strategy, architecture, value streams, data, applications, and technology infrastructure, into a cohesive and comprehensive model. You will serve as both a practitioner and a champion, driving the adoption of enterprise architecture practices to support organizational goals and initiatives.


The focus is on assembling the framework and vision that becomes the glue connecting key items like:

  • Business Strategy and Objectives
  • Business Architecture
  • Value Streams that support business architecture
  • Data / Information Architecture
  • Application / Integration Architecture
  • Technology / Infrastructure architecture


The consultant has to develop a comprehensive EA model for an organization that explicitly connects all of these and captures the interdependencies. A complete model is a powerful enabler for business strategy, technical prioritization, budgeting, etc. This is an incredibly powerful tool for enterprise modernization, mergers and acquisitions, etc. It's perhaps the only discipline that attempts to truly identify the connective tissue behind all those layers above in a way that drives efficiency and really well-informed decisions and investments at an enterprise level.

The consultant should have hands-on experience having implemented this a few times – at least 5 years explicitly having worked in EA as described by TOGAF or Zachman. Must be a practitioner as well as a champion for this role.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework based on industry standards such as TOGAF or Zachman, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and strategies.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business strategy, objectives, and challenges, and translate them into architectural requirements and solutions.
  • Facilitate the integration of various architectural domains including business, data, application, and technology, to ensure coherence and consistency across the enterprise.
  • Create and maintain architectural models, diagrams, and documentation to effectively communicate architectural vision, principles, and standards to stakeholders.
  • Establish and enforce architectural governance processes to ensure compliance with architectural standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to architectural principles and alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Drive organizational change by promoting the adoption of enterprise architecture practices, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including business leaders, IT teams, and external partners, to ensure alignment and support for architectural initiatives.
  • Create the Enterprise Data Strategy and Roadmaps for BigRio clients
  • Mentor and guide Technical Architects and work closely with the CTO/CIO
  • Be the expert consulting resource for AWS services
  • Guide the architecture of the Data Catalog
  • Lead the architecture for the cloud-based CMS
  • Implement the appropriate Graph database into the data infrastructure
  • Lead the Security Architecture and implementation


Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Programming in at least one modern language and Big Data frameworks
  • Architecting and developing highly reliable and scalable distributed applications with a focus on performance and scale in the Cloud, including MS Azure, GCP, and AWS
  • Experience architecting and optimizing production-grade data pipelines to prepare datasets at scale for data analysis, modeling, and optimization
  • Experience working with Big Data components
  • Knowledge of Integrations
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured databases
  • Demonstrated understanding of fast-paced Agile principles with technical designs, iterative development, and code reviews


Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Direct experiences with AWS EA
  • Higher Education industry experience
  • TOGAF or Zachman certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working explicitly in enterprise architecture roles, with a focus on implementing TOGAF or Zachman frameworks.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering enterprise architecture initiatives in complex organizational environments.
  • Strong understanding of business strategy, processes, and technology trends, with the ability to translate business requirements into architectural solutions.
