POSITION: Counselor

BASIC FUNCTION: To perform various cemetery tasks as assigned by the cemetery manager. On a limited basis, direct the secretary and field operational personnel as necessary in the performance of assigned tasks. In the absence of the manager, may be authorized to manage the cemetery on the manager's behalf.

SCOPE: The duties and responsibilities of this position extend to the cemetery assigned.

Presenting and selling cemetery goods and services on cemetery grounds

Directing daily funeral activities

Performing office administrative and field operation functions as assigned by the cemetery manager

Miscellaneous assigned duties

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employee must be able to:

Lift and carry 80 pounds unassisted.

Work in adverse weather conditions (i.e. extreme summer heat, extreme winter cold, and other extremes of weather-related outdoor elements)

Perform repeated tasks of bending, kneeling, stooping, and extensive walking.

Manually manipulate various office machines (personal computers, photocopiers, cdlcGlators, etc.)

Hear conversational voices with or without hearing aid assistance.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School or G.E.D. diploma.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability and willingness to work flexible hours Monday through Saturday. Must be able to demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must have a valid driver's license.

EXPERIENCE: No cemetery experiences necessary. Ability to type and perform all office administrative tasks.
