Job Title: Collector (Contractor)Location: Greater Phoenix Metro Area (Remote) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:45 AM - 5:15 PM (flexible schedule required) Training: 3-6 weeks, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (attendance required) Position Description: The Collector is responsible for the collection of assigned tax cases on behalf of the *** and participating counties and cities. These cases may include Individual Income, Corporate Income, Withholding, and Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT). The role involves contacting taxpayers via phone and conducting field visits to residences, places of employment, or business locations to collect delinquent taxes and promote voluntary compliance. Successful candidates will demonstrate integrity, strong communication skills, and a positive, service-oriented attitude. Key Responsibilities: Review taxpayer accounts and verify or update key information in multiple systems. Contact taxpayers by phone to resolve delinquent tax liabilities. Schedule and conduct field visits to residences, employers, and business locations. Educate taxpayers on available online resources and current tax policies. Promote voluntary compliance by reviewing financial statements, providing documentation, and offering guidance on maintaining tax compliance. Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements. Document all actions taken in internal systems accurately and promptly. Participate in the seizure and sale of assets and/or inventory to satisfy delinquent liabilities, including property evaluation, lien review, and assisting with public auctions. Contribute to team engagement activities and meet established performance goals. Required Skills and Competencies: Strong multitasking and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace. Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and manage conflict. Quick learner with good retention and attention to detail. Creative problem-solver with a goal-oriented mindset. Preferred Skills: Spanish-speaking (bilingual). Experience with process improvement initiatives.
