They have a need for a Business Systems Analyst who is a detail-oriented professional specializing in analyzing and optimizing business processes, systems, and workflows for AI projects. The Business Systems Analyst bridges the gap between business needs and AI solutions by gathering requirements, conducting data analysis, and developing strategies to enhance system efficiency. Their expertise ensures that all business and AI requirements are meticulously documented and translated into effective technical solutions, facilitating smooth project execution and improved operational performance. This is a full time, hybrid role located in Camp Springs, MD. This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance; therefore, US Citizenship is required


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of organizational requirements, goals, and infrastructure with a focus on AI enablement opportunities.
  • Support the AI governance team in establishing and maintaining ethical AI practices, risk management protocols, and compliance standards.
  • Apply Agile principles and manage backlogs to support frameworks like Scrum and Kanban in AI project development.
  • Develop and refine use stories and acceptance criteria for AI applications, translating complex business needs into actionable AI project requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and architectural frameworks.
  • Lead the interpretation of data, identifying features, and assessing model quality.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives and decompose features into user stories.
  • Develop and maintain requirements documents and ensure technical compliance.
  • Identify and predict technologies that may benefit the organization.
  • Monitor and analyze technical products for necessary modifications.
  • Define KPIs and metrics for model performance monitoring and evaluation.
  • Work independently and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to achieve business goals.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex business challenges.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in business analysis and technologies.


Knowledge/Skills required by the position:

  • Minimum of 5 – 8 years of experience in business systems analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or a related field.
  • U.S. citizen.
  • Required to obtain public trust or security clearance.
  • Experience in analyzing large datasets, identifying key data features, and evaluating model performance using various metrics and validation techniques.
  • Proficiency in using tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, and Power BI, with a strong understanding of data preprocessing, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analysis to support data-driven decision-making. Skilled in collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into comprehensive user stories, and create clear acceptance criteria within Agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience in conducting thorough assessments of requirements and translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in assessing AI requirements and integrating AI solutions into business processes.
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts and how they apply business analysis.
  • Ability to work with AI engineers and data scientists to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Understanding of AI governance, data management, and ethical considerations in AI projects.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and platforms used for business analysis.
