Job Description:


Do you have live games / Games as a Service experience? Do you have experience playing either MapleStory or MapleStory Worlds? Our client is seeking a dynamic and skilled Community Manager to join our leading gaming company. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing abilities and a proven track record in community management within the gaming industry. This role is pivotal in enhancing brand awareness and player engagement through effective communication and strategic interaction with our online community.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Craft detailed and engaging patch notes, updates on live services, issue updates, and maintenance information. These will be published on our website and various community channels to keep players informed.
  • Actively monitor and engage with players on community channels and during both online and in-game events. Analyze performance data to provide insights and drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with community partners, including fan sites, external forums, and other community platforms.
  • Represent a voice for the players by providing comprehensive qualitative and quantitative reports on community feedback, issues, concerns and trends to stakeholders in order to address the communities’ needs efficiently and effectively
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment for our players by constantly monitoring and moderating user generated content
  • Engage our players by planning and creating unique content (including assets, events, livestreams, videos to be published on our websites and community channels; lead the design and execution of a game's community engagement programs with internal teams
  • Drive community growth by monitoring and reporting on community channels and both online and in-game event performance to provide detailed analysis that fosters constant improvement and innovation
  • Inform our players about upcoming updates and changes to the game and live services by writing detailed patch notes, live service and issue updates, and maintenance information to be published on our website and community channels
  • Maintain positive relationships with our community partners, such as fan sites, external forums and community destinations , as well as every volunteer support network
  • Champion our games internally by consistently stimulating the conversation across all departments regarding our client's community strategy, and ensure all departments are working towards developing a clear and healthy relationship with our communities


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of successful community management experience within the gaming industry.
  • Professional experience in the gaming industry is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing community updates and patch notes is required (samples must be provided).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional gaming industry experience is required.

  • Experience with Discord, Reddit Steam, other forums, and community tools.
  • Livestreaming experience on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong writing, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of game marketing, game production, and community tools.
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as a team member.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional internal teams such as influencer marketing and social media
  • Understanding of social media channels with a focus on building and maintaining communities
  • Able to plan and execute community initiatives and tasks on a yearly, monthly, and weekly basis
  • Ability to create and document processes/proposals clearly for both internal and external teams
  • General knowledge of web post formatting, CMS systems / HTML
  • Bilingual in Korean and English is a plus
