Translational Research Scientist II

Our partner is a leader global pharmaceutical company known for their expertise in developing and manufacturing top-quality pharmaceutical drugs, life-saving vaccines, and innovative animal-health products, is seeking an outstanding Associate Research Scientist. This individual will be a part of their Molecular Profiling group, working on gene expression profiling using targeted and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies. The work supports basic research, preclinical and development activities, and translational biomarker projects.
Pay Rate: 60/hr-80/hr
Responsibilities:
- Isolate RNA/DNA from various tissues and cells (human, non-human primate, rodent).
- Perform targeted gene expression profiling using NanoString and RT-qPCR systems.
- Prepare and quality control libraries for NGS platforms.
- Conduct NGS sequencing with Illumina MiSeq and NovaSeq.
- Present data and results.
- Required Experience and Skills:B.S/B.A with 5+ years, M.S. with 3+ years, or Ph.D. with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library preparation.
- Experience with RNA/DNA quality control platforms (Fragment Analyzer, Agilent Bioanalyzer, Tapestation).
- Skilled in RT-qPCR methods and platforms.
- Familiarity with NGS platforms (Illumina MiSeq, NovaSeq).
- Ability to develop and troubleshoot new NGS protocols.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Preferred Experience and Skills:Experience with liquid automation for RNA/DNA isolation and NGS library preparation.
- Familiarity with multi-omics NGS platforms, low sorted cell populations, and single-cell RNA sequencing.
- Knowledge of NGS data visualization software (Cell Ranger, BioTuring).
- Proficiency with software such as Illumina BaseSpace, Omicsoft, TIBCO Spotfire, Graphpad Prism, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis, and Geneious.
