Indirect Procurement Lead

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a motivated, detailed, and experienced Indirect Procurement Lead to join their team in Oak Brook, IL. This role will manage the indirect spend categories, including but not limited to IT, office supplies, travel, uniforms, cellular services, and HR contracts and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management with a focus on indirect categories. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for indirect categories to optimize cost savings and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in developing sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Negotiate competitive terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best value for the organization.
  • Manage supplier relationships and drive Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities to mitigate risk, improve performance, and add strategic value.
  • Monitor market trends and provide market intelligence on assigned categories to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Evaluate and rationalize the current supplier base to optimize vendor relationships and align with strategic objectives.
  • Execute supplier agreements and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a service-oriented mindset to support internal customers and stakeholders effectively.
  • Utilize analytical tools and techniques to identify cost reduction opportunities and operational efficiencies.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPM, C.P.S.M., CPIM, CIPS, or equivalent are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management with a focus on indirect categories.
  • Previous experience in establishing procurement strategies and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven experience in contract negotiations and supplier management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and market insights to drive decision-making.
  • Positive attitude, proactive approach, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
