Cambridge, United States Lilium Therapeutics Full time

Company Description

Lilium Therapeutics is a biotech startup developing precisely targeted, safer, higher capacity gene delivery vehicles. Our platform is powered by our synthetic assembly technology combining the manufacturability of non-viral with the delivery capabilities of viral systems. Using our platform we’re developing new autoimmune, oncology, and cardiology therapies.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site lab-based role located in Cambridge, MA for a (Sr) Scientist in Vector Development at Lilium. This role combines vector development (molecular biology, cell culture, vector production) with cell targeting optimization (targeting molecules, assay development). The ideal candidate will have expertise in both, or expertise in one and strong interest in developing expertise in the other. You will play a leading role in shaping the scientific basis for the company's technology, optimizing compositions, and finalizing production processes. Your deliverables contribute to selecting a drug candidate for preclinical development.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. demonstrating thought leadership in relevant areas. OR Bachelors/Masters with demonstrated experience in independent scientific planning and execution with track record of delivering relevant results (7+ years).
  • Extensive experience in vector design, optimization, and production (viral or non viral - AAV, LVV, EV, LNP).
  • Technical expert in vector characterization, qpcr, flow cytometry, cell based assays, etc.
  • Technical expert in design and optimization of targeting molecules (Antibodies etc) and related assays
  • Genetic cargo design is a plus
  • Independent and creative experimental planning, design, and analysis.
  • Strong, clear communication and ability to manage timelines.
  • Excited about working in a dynamic and fast paced early stage startup
