Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Peoria, IL (100% Onsite)

Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent with AXISCADES.


Position Overview


This position involves developing purchased-finished power electronics components for the Electrification + Energy Solutions Division, requiring collaboration with machine systems teams, suppliers, and internal teams from requirements definition to validation completion. Based in China, the role supports NTI and NPI programs and includes limited travel for supplier evaluation.


Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 6 years of experience in product development, including design, analysis, and validation of power electronics. Key technical skills include experience with electric drive systems, component development, and familiarity with FMEA, APQP, & PPAP. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential. Job Responsibilities


Work with machine systems teams to establish converter requirements for e-powertrain.

Perform analysis and evaluation to select the best supplier option.

Collaborate with suppliers and system’s teams to develop production components.

Prepare and present design and gateway reviews in support of NTI & NPI programs.

Collaborate with China team for electrical design, verification & validation plans, functional evaluation.

Play an active role in supplier evaluation, selection, and development.

Execute and support electrical commissioning and testing on purchased components.

Support APQP activities on purchased components in collaboration with suppliers.

Document and resolve field issues.

Manage procurement, inventory, and shipment of components.

Stay updated with the latest advances and market trends in e-powertrain DC converters and inverters.


Education & Experience Required


Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Electrical Engineering degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in product development, including design, analysis, and validation.

Experience in power electronics design and development, and a basic understanding of e-powertrain systems and components are essential.


Technical Skills Required


Experience with electric drive systems and/or components.

Component development experience including design, analysis, assembly, and testing.

Familiarity with quality tools including FMEA, APQP, & PPAP.

Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) Issue resolution process.



Technical Skills Desired


Experience in inverters and motor drives for electric powertrain development.

Experience in supplier evaluation and development.

Power converter testing and validation experience.


Soft Skills


Strong communication skills.

Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills.
