Technical Broadcast Technician– Video Recording Studio

Job Summary: Join our active team as a Broadcast Technician Are you passionate about the world of broadcast and studio production? We’re on the lookout for a talented Broadcast Technician with a knack for IT and studio support. In this exciting role, you’ll be the backbone of our recording studio’s technical infrastructure, ensuring seamless video and audio productions. You’ll masterfully manage and maintain our cutting-edge broadcast equipment and network appliances, navigate operating systems and broadcast signal flow with ease, and troubleshoot while providing top-notch IT support in a fast-paced production environment. With work hours from 1 pm to 10 pm, you’ll have your mornings to yourself and be able to collaborate closely with our morning technician to ensure a smooth handover and successful events throughout the day. Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain technical video and audio recording equipment in a production studio setting.
  • Troubleshoot and manage network appliances (Fortinet, HPE Aruba Instant On, Unifi) and network infrastructure (optical, copper, 10Gb and 1Gb).
  • Work with operating systems including Windows 10, 11, Server 2019, Mac OS, and Linux distributions (Deb and RPM).
  • Ensure smooth operation of broadcast video systems (1080p 59.94 fps SDI embedded signal flows) and audio systems (Dante digital audio, AES 36, AES 59).
  • Manage broadcast communications, including Clear-Com and VoIP TIFF systems.
  • Support production studio needs and ensure all recorded videos are available to editors.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly under tight deadlines, particularly with signal flow and studio production.
  • Assist with IT support, including ticket resolution and troubleshooting studio-related issues.


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a two-year technical degree in IT, Network Administration, or Broadcast Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a studio production environment, with a preference for broadcast TV or remote production experience.
  • Proficiency in business IT systems and A/V with a strong understanding of signal flow.
  • Experience with network infrastructure, appliances, and solid broadcast video/audio system knowledge.
  • Ability to work under pressure and troubleshoot quickly in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and experience in resolving IT-related issues.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to thrive in robust startup environment.
