Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with 10+ years of professional experience managing environmental restoration projects—preferably for the Department of Defense or other federal and state government agencies. Prospective candidates must have experience managing projects requiring complex logistical planning for remediation and demolition operations in remote Alaska. The successful candidate must be able to:

· Develop technical scopes of work.

· Conduct presentations to clients and regulators on technical approaches and project findings.

· Prepare accurate cost estimates with defensible assumptions and competitive bids; and,

· Prepare subcontractor bid packages and evaluate planning and scheduling options for long-term projects with multiple, simultaneous tasks.

The candidate must be familiar with CERCLA, RCRA, and State of Alaska cleanup regulations and ADEC guidance documents and have a proven track record for successfully completing remediation projects within budget and on schedule. Positive referrals from agency project managers and ADEC case managers are a plus.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

· A degree in engineering or environmental sciences or related scientific degree with professional licensure (PE, CPG, etc.) is preferred, however verifiable past experience with quality references would also be considered.

· Minimum of 10+ years of experience managing environmental investigation, remediation or restoration projects for federal or state government agencies; minimum of three years in Alaska. Project references should be provided with resume.

· Working knowledge of state and federal regulations and coordination with project stakeholders that may include but not limited to ADEC, USEPA, USFWS, BLM, and AK native communities.

· Current HAZWOPER certification per 29 CFR1910.120 is preferred.

Abilities and Skills:

· Demonstrated working knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, and State of Alaska regulations for contaminated sites as well as other state of Alaska and federal environmental regulations.

· Proven ability to manage technical and field staff to accomplish goals with evidence that staff professionally grew and prospered under your leadership

· Proficient in cost estimating and scheduling software applications such as Microsoft Project Schedule and Deltek Vision.

· Proficient in leading technical presentations to clients and stakeholders; publishing and presenting papers at conferences is preferred. History of executing large field projects with no health and safety incidents or regulatory compliance issues.
