The Commercial Project Manager will oversee all phases of commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of sustainable construction practices, along with traditional construction processes and regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


Project Planning and Management:

  • Lead project planning, including defining scope, budget, and schedule with a focus on sustainability.
  • Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on project goals, including green building initiatives.


Sustainable Construction Leadership:

  • Implement and advocate for green building techniques, materials, and processes that align with Engelke’s sustainability goals.
  • Ensure that all projects meet or exceed environmental standards and certifications, such as LEED or equivalent.
  • Stay informed on the latest sustainable construction trends and integrate them into project planning and execution.


Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor project teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and subcontractors.
  • Resolve conflicts and provide guidance to keep the project on track.


Client Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on project status, changes, and potential risks.
  • Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.


Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract specifications, company policies, and industry standards, with a strong emphasis on sustainable practices.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality assurance checks.


Budget and Financial Management:

  • Monitor project budgets and control costs to ensure profitability.
  • Approve and track expenditures, change orders, and invoices.
  • Provide financial reports and updates to senior management.


Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage unforeseen issues that arise during construction, ensuring minimal impact on project delivery.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met, including those related to environmental impact.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction project management.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards, with an emphasis on green building techniques.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • LEED certification or equivalent experience in sustainable construction is highly desirable.
