Primary Purpose:
The Principal Construction Project Manager oversees large-scale projects within Pennsylvania, managing them from planning through completion to ensure they meet time, budget, and quality objectives. The role requires 75% local travel within the Pittsburgh to Harrisburg territory, with remote flexibility for candidates residing in Pennsylvania. Travel expenses are covered.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple projects with a focus on safety, budget, and timely completion.
- Oversee shop drawings, submittals, and engineering calculations review and approval.
- Develop and manage change orders and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Track and report project progress, scheduling, invoicing, financials, and forecasting.
- Develop project schedules, cost estimates, budgets, scopes of work, and supplier quotes.
- Supervise and control all phases of project implementation, ensuring top-tier safety and quality standards.
- Maintain communication with all stakeholders to ensure project alignment from system design through construction and close-out phases.
- Manage subcontractor and procurement documentation, including negotiations with vendors, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, environmental) with 7+ years of project/construction management experience.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required.
- Proven experience in project fiscal management, value engineering, and multi-million dollar projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and architectural plans.
- Knowledge of Distributed Generation and Micro-grid technologies (e.g., Solar, CHP, Battery Storage).
- PMP certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 18 months.
Travel Requirements:
- 75% local travel within the Pittsburgh to Harrisburg region, with travel expenses covered.
