Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Manager of Accounting to oversee and manage the company's accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in our financial processes. The Manager of Accounting will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements and supporting the company's growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Support the CFO and senior management team with strategic financial planning and decision-making.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company's financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency and ensure compliance.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, cash flow models, and variance analysis.
- Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings.
- Assist in leading and mentoring the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with other departments to support business operations and provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Managing and reconciliation multiple credit card vendors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in the retail industry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Intacct) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.
- Sage Intacct and/or NetSuite, bill.com or similar, Concur or similar
