Maintenance Supply Specialist

 

Location: Jonesboro, AR                                                                                    Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Eric Trimble                                                                                  Shift: Day  

Hourly/Salaried: Salaried                                                                                FSLA status: Non-exempt

 

Job Summary: 

 

This person is responsible for ensuring all materials are ordered for the facility, to include maintenance and operating supplies. This job also requires that inventory be kept correct both in the parts cage and outside part buildings. This person must be self-motivated and have very good communication skills.

 

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Maintain a functional partes department (i.e. manage new parts inventory, obsolete parts inventory, orderly storage of parts, moving parts to manage groups of parts pertaining to manufacturer of equipment).

·         Issuing and receiving of parts and plant supplies.       

·         Able to contact vendors for quotes, scheduling of parts pick-up/repair and tracking of these items.

·         Follow up of orders and closing out of paperwork.

·         Ability to file critical paperwork in proper locations.

·         Good phone etiquette

·         Audit of parts crib and parts buildings.

·         Ability to supervise parts clerk and their daily work.

·         Able to make sure all issued parts are issued out, re-ordered and restocked when received.

·         Able to manage monthly inventory cycle counts.

·         Ability to work with front office purchasing group.

·         Adding/removing stock items from inventory.

·         Maintain neat, orderly, and accurate parts crib.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·         Ability to navigate in SAP competently.

·         Ability to work in fast-paced environment.

·         Ability to work with offsite purchasing to work through any parts issues (i.e., work orders)

·         Ability to troubleshoot issues that occur on orders or inventory.

·         Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.

·         Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

·         Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.

·         Must pass a background check and drug screen.

·         Must be able to read and write.

·         Need to be familiar in SPC, HACCP, GMP’s, SSOP’s and USDA.

·         Be familiar with ISO process and procedures.

Working Conditions:   

 

·         Office and Plant work environments. Possibility of being exposed to varying conditions in the Plant setting, such as cold areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions.

·         Must be able to work in different climate conditions.

·         Must be able to multitask.

·         Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.

·         Must be able to complete required paperwork in a timely manner.

·         The noise level of the environment is usually moderate.

·         Physical requirements include sitting, standing, and walking for prolonged periods of time.

·         Reaching overhead and below knees.

·         Ability to lift 25-50 pounds at a time.

·         Ability to drive material handling equipment safely as needed.
