Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the activities of Public Service Workers and oversee the maintenance of city buildings, equipment, facilities, grounds, and fixtures.
  • Operate construction and lifting equipment, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Process order requests, perform or oversee the completion of work, and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Paint interiors and exteriors of buildings, and perform heating, ventilation, and air conditioning maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform rough and finished carpentry, including remodeling projects, and install or replace plumbing fixtures.
  • Design and build concrete forms, pour and finish concrete, and perform a variety of maintenance and repair work as needed.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on boiler, generator, and pumps, and move office furniture as necessary.
  • Fulfill purchase requisitions, purchase materials and supplies, and operate a city vehicle.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized training or experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driver's license, and a CDL and HVAC license are preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in 10-key typing.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a variety of environments, including outdoors, and exposure to noise, fumes, and other hazards. You will need to be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy objects.
