Our continued growth has created an opportunity to join our L&D team as a Manager, Learning and Development, Doctor Development.


The Manager is an important part of the Learning and Development team and has accountability for execution of development strategies and programs for doctors new to Aspen Dental. This role will partner closely with the Director, Doctor Development and key business partners to create and implement learning solutions and programs that support the successful onboarding and continued growth of doctors.


The Manager, Doctor Development is an individual who can effectively collaborate with leaders, the Clinical Support team, owners and the broader L&D, Talent Management and HR teams. This individual contributor is a performance consultant who can develop and execute learning solutions to build foundational through advanced capabilities and confidence. The Manager, Doctor Development, will possess excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills and must have the ability to work effectively within all levels of the organization.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders, the Clinical Support team, owners and the broader L&D, Talent Management and HR teams to understand specific developments needs for new doctors
  • Manage end-to-end analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of doctor programs
  • Design and deliver a suite of effective learning solutions, programs, tools and resources. Solutions may include formal learning programs, experiential learning assignments, coaching, etc.
  • Identify innovative and cost-effective solutions for doctor development
  • Manage appropriate external vendors
  • Understand the specific needs of doctors as learners so you can advocate and adapt for their specific needs and preferences
  • Evaluate existing programs/content for impact and alignment with organizational needs
  • Use data to measure success: learn, iterate, and improve; analyze trends and develop proactive actions to continuously improve learning experiences
  • Facilitate learning sessions and serve as a coach to other facilitators in programs for the purpose of elevating the learner performance, inclusive of conducting Train the Trainers
  • Continuously research and stay abreast of industry trends to integrate innovative methodologies and best practices
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional and personal growth by initiating dialogue with team members, attending learning events, engaging in self-directed learning and focusing on professional development goals
  • Plan, organize and execute tasks and activities with urgency
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements/Qualifications

  • Education level: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant learning and development experience, ideally in a fast-paced organization with a distributed workforce
  • Proven design experience across learning modalities (ILT, eLearning, Virtual, Performance Support, Mobile, Social)
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and principles
  • Well versed in digital learning, just-in-time, and blended learning strategies
  • Experience with HTML, Captivate, Articulate or comparable software development tools
  • Strong proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom and high learning agility for new and emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated skill in instructional design and implementing development programs for all audiences
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels in the organization
  • Flexibility and agility to be proactive in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
  • Excellent facilitation skills. Experience in small and large group facilitation in multiple modalities
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring programs/processes
  • Very detail-oriented & organized
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., multiple Outlook accounts, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and Zoom
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Hybrid role (some onsite presence weekly required)
