Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager will contribute to building the Honda brand by driving awareness, familiarity and consideration of Honda new vehicles.  This role will support the development of advertising campaign assets, including but not limited to TV/video, radio, print, collateral, social media and outdoor.  The position will also help manage the NHL partnership, as well as other brand-building opportunities that may arise. Additionally, this position will supervise a direct report, and oversee their projects and manage/develop annual performance plans.



Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, evaluate, produce and deliver effective advertising for Honda that supports the brand, as well as new model launches in line with strategic goals. 
  • Lead planning sessions with agencies to discuss objectives and provide strategic goals.
  • Review and approve campaign elements which include creative brief, creative concepts and session feedback. 
  • Manage flow of department communications to external agencies and other departments within Honda. 
  • Present and obtain Senior/Executive management approval on key initiatives/projects.
  • Support high-profile sponsorship planning and activations for NHL
  • Serve as Honda brand steward to other departments by producing and distributing Honda auto brand guidelines, and other brand-related projects (e.g., font design, look and feel, etc.)



Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelors in marketing, business mgmt or related degree
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing or advertising
  • Automotive industry experience preferred
  • Experience with traditional and digital asset production 
  • Experience with social media and experiential activations and extensions (a plus)
  • Knowledge of tier 1, 2 and 3 marketing concepts
  • Knowledge/experience working with a field organization, dealers/daas 
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management and senior executives 
  • Ability to direct and collaborate with ad agencies
  • Ability to execute marketing strategies, yet pivot directions quickly, as the business requires
  • Confident, self-starter and motivated 
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal), analytical, and presentation skills
  • Strong ability to effectively manage a high volume of projects on accelerated timelines, and deliver results as planned and within budget
  • Ability to manage and organize resources, suppliers, schedules and budgets
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
  • Adobe photoshop (a plus)



Workstyle

  • Travel: Average of 1 time per year or more depending on project demands/responsibilities; includes possible overseas/international travel.
  • Physical: Primarily works at a desk; frequent keyboarding.     
  • Hazards: Risks found in a typical office setting. May be exposed to hazards during supplier visits.
  • Overtime: Overtime expected based on project demands/responsibilities.
