Job Purpose

Assistant Manager- Honda National Sales would support Honda Sales in Post Production Options (PPO) sales objectives while maintaining high vehicle turn rates increasing American Honda's profitability.
This is a Rotational Position designed to develop the necessary skills and background leading to a field management position.

This position leads the sales strategy with S&PP department to balance production model mix between Dealer allocation, Zone business needs, company vehicle business, Fleet Management business, and Export business. The goal is to create a well-balanced mix of managing department relations along with leading many different initiatives. In addition, this position will assist with the sales components of the Honda Dealer Recognition programs such as: President’s Awards, and Council of Sales Leadership (COSL).

The scope of work will consist of working with the following departments:

  • National Sales
  • Incentives
  • Sales & Production Planning
  • Sales & Production Operations
  • Dealer Recognition
  • Sales Training
  • Marketing
  • Product Planning
  • Oversee development of all reporting and ad hoc analysis and special project support as situations arise on a regular basis.


Key Accountabilities
  • Lead Honda Post Production Options (PPO) sales strategy and new model implementation.
  • Manage APEX dealer allocation in coordination with S&PP dept to distribute vehicles effectively and equitably to all regions to achieve sales objectives.
  • Manage market support distribution to assist Zone Sales Management with low inventory and top performing dealers.
  • Support dealers/field teams
  • Act as a liaison between Honda Field Teams and the National Sales Team

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree, business/organizational leadership relevant degree preferred
  • Equivalent job experience and proven leadership capabilities and skill
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with PC based tools and applications

Minimum Experience

  • 3+ years Honda/Acura Field Sales, Training, Business Development, Market Representation experience or equivalent.
  • 7+ years’ experience in automotive related experience
