Summary:
Our client is hiring a dedicated and experienced Data Floor Build Foreman to oversee the critical setup of our data floor in Memphis, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the precise positioning of server racks, overseeing electrical and water hookups, and ensuring that all installations meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency. This role is essential in ensuring that the data center's infrastructure is built to support optimal performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rack Positioning Management: Lead the planning and execution of rack positioning on the data floor, ensuring that all server racks are correctly aligned, secured, and optimized for airflow, accessibility, and future scalability. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that the layout supports efficient data center operations.
- Electrical Hookup Management: Oversee the installation and management of electrical hookups, ensuring that all connections are properly installed according to specifications and comply with safety regulations. Coordinate with electrical teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the installation process.
- Water Hookup Management: Manage the setup and maintenance of water hookups required for cooling systems. Ensure that all water connections are installed according to project specifications and operate efficiently to maintain the necessary cooling levels for the data floor.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor all aspects of the build process to ensure that work is completed to the highest standards. Conduct inspections and tests to verify that installations are functioning correctly and meet all safety and performance criteria.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to a team of technicians, ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently and safely. Offer training and support to team members to enhance their skills and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Coordination with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments, including inventory management and cooling systems teams, to ensure that all aspects of the data floor build are aligned and progressing on schedule.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a data center or large-scale infrastructure environment.
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, particularly in rack positioning, electrical, and water systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a construction environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
