We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Foreman to join our team at H-E-B. As an HVAC Foreman, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance, work direction, and professional leadership to HVAC Technicians.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair large HVAC units
  • Install and replace large HVAC units
  • Repair large AC units
  • Operate and maintain chiller and boilers, including water treatment
  • Perform and assist with preventive maintenance inspections
  • Maintain CRAC units; collaborate with vendors to repair and replace
  • Ensure walk-in coolers and freezers are monitored (BMS)
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in a technical field, or comparable experience
  • 5+ years of experience as an HVAC technician
  • 2+ years of experience in a highly complex, multi-facility maintenance role
  • Experience maintaining refrigeration units and plumbing systems
  • EPA Section 608 Technician Universal certification
  • Journeyman certifications / contractor's licenses in AC, electrical, security / fire systems, or other vocational trades
  • Completion of hazardous materials handling certification, once hired
  • Valid driver's license; good driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced working knowledge of all HVAC systems, related safety guidelines, codes, and electrical / mechanical testing devices
  • Working knowledge related to interpreting blueprints and evaluating code compliance related to electrical installations and HVAC maintenance, building / construction methods, and plumbing systems
  • Knowledge of OSHA / building codes that affect workplace health and safety
  • Strong written / verbal communication skills; strong reading and math skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; attention to detail
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to read / interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, and electrical formulas
  • Ability to foster / demonstrate safe work practices
  • Ability to adapt procedures, techniques, tools, and materials to meet special troubleshooting / repair needs
  • Ability to take initiative and work autonomously while directing work of others
