Description

The Privacy Compliance Officer will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Global Head of Privacy and Data Protection in executing the Global Privacy and Data Protection Policy and framework.
  • Providing expert advice on the application of privacy and data protection laws to business operations.
  • Participate in and advise on data protection issues in firm-wide strategic projects.
  • Conducting privacy impact assessments to ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal standards, identifying risks, and recommending mitigating actions.
  • Staying updated on legislative and regulatory developments in data protection and privacy, ensuring the company remains compliant.
  • Collaborating with control and oversight groups to develop, maintain, test, and monitor best practices for privacy and data protection controls.
  • Identifying and address data protection risks, providing actionable solutions.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand privacy risks and trends, and stay informed about new products and initiatives.
  • Effectively communicating privacy and data protection issues and solutions to various internal audiences, including senior leadership.

Profile

The Privacy Compliance Officer should have the following background:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a global privacy and data protection environment.
  • Relevant legal and/or privacy qualification desirable.
  • Familiarity with privacy and data protection laws throughout the BlackRock footprint.
  • Direct experience working in financial services is highly desired.
  • Experience or familiarity with conducting privacy risk assessments.
  • Ability to build rapport with key stakeholders to identify privacy risks/trends and stay abreast of new products/initiatives.

Job Offer

The offer for the successful Privacy Compliance Officer includes a competitive hourly pay rate for the duration of a 6-month contract with opportunity extend.
