Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Harwood Heights, IL

We're looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team In this role, you'll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring our CNC machines run smoothly, leading exciting process improvement initiatives, and driving our manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Maintenance: Keep our CNC machines in top shape, troubleshooting and resolving issues on the fly.
  • Project Management: Lead multiple projects, including process improvement and part quoting.
  • Fixture Design: Innovate by designing new fixtures or enhancing existing ones.
  • CNC Operations: Specialize in CNC programming from scratch, designing fixtures, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with machinists, programmers, and junior engineers to achieve our goals.
  • Secondary Processes: Engage with processes like heat treating, plating, painting, anodizing, or NDT.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: At least 7 years in a machining environment (10+ years preferred), with solid experience in CNC machining.
  • CNC Expertise: Proficient in creating parts from scratch, managing first piece runs, and programming with CAM software (Esprit preferred, but others are welcome).
  • Lathe Mastery: Extensive experience with CNC lathes, with additional mill knowledge as a plus.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Quick and effective problem-solving abilities, whether it's a machine or part issue.
  • GD&T Proficiency: Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in a precise manufacturing environment.

Bonus Points:

  • Secondary Processing: Knowledge of processes like heat treating, plating, painting, anodizing, or NDT.
  • End-to-End Manufacturing: Experience overseeing the entire manufacturing process from start to finish.
  • Engineering Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Industry Experience: Background in the aerospace industry is a plus.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with CAD and ERP systems.
