JOB SUMMARY

The Controller will be responsible for managing daily accounting activities for entities within the Zehnder Group. Manage the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Project Accounting functions.


  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies and procedures. Plan, organize, and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes. Recommend accounting process improvements and ensure adequate documentation of accounting procedures. Act as key contact to outside auditing firms and banks. Assist with accounting system upgrades/design of accounting system interfaces.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Manage daily accounting and reporting for RNA including general accounting. Reconcile daily sales, review AR and AP aging, process internal and external commissions, analyze prepaids and accruals, bank reconciliation and review.
  • Direct the development, staffing, and training of the accounting department to maximize individual contribution towards company goals while creating a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Support HR with Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Supervisor 2 direct reports
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate monthly and annual close processes including financial commentary and liquidity reporting.
  • Lead and manage annual review, compliance and tax reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly forecast, annual budgets and presentations.
  • Prepare and file state tax reports.
  • Ensure company compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S.GAAP) and assist with interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and recommend accounting process improvements.
  • Provide information needed by outside auditing firms in support of annual audit and tax return preparation.
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts for all companies are reconciled monthly with supporting documentation.
  • Assist General Manager with ad hoc reports, projections, and business analysis as needed.
  • Assist with accounting system upgrades, design of accounting system interfaces with other corporate software.
  • Assist in design and testing of new reports and changes to existing reports.
  • Assist in development of Risk Management program. Maintain insurance (general liability, property, auto and Worker's Compensation).
  • Maintain applicable vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Primary contact for legal counsel and assist in company legalities.
  • Special projects as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 5-10 years of accounting experience including several years at the Controller level.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S.GAAP.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines independently and as part of a team
  • Desire to continue learning and improving skill sets
