JOB SUMMARY:

Respond to the needs of customers by performing duties related to start-up, training, service calls, maintenance and repair of paint booths and related equipment. Provide quality data to improve products and processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Test, repair, install and make field modifications to mechanical and electrical equipment including, but not limited to, programming of VFD’s and various process controllers.
  • Work from blueprints, drawings, schematics, or other specifications to locate, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems; make field revisions as needed to create as-built documents.
  • Operate diagnostic testing equipment to gather data used to diagnose problems with equipment operation.
  • Conduct customer classroom and hands on training for operation and maintenance of company equipment. Provide support to other technicians as need.
  • Communicate equipment improvement ideas related to controls, electrical, air replacements systems, and other mechanical equipment to company design and engineering departments.
  • Support and contribute to the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with our Quality System Manual and Quality Procedures by providing quality, efficiency, and safety feedback to improve company processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Key relationships:

Relationships with both internal and external contacts. Provides technical support and training to customers and 3rd party service providers. Provides feedback on quality improvement ideas to internal contacts.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE, SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE

  • Associates Degree with 4 + years of experience in a technical field
  • Years of experience may be substituted for degree; 2 years' experience per year of schooling
  • General knowledge of electrical controls and mechanical systems
  • Effective customer relations and communications skills
  • Ability to complete reports in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy

PREFERRED TRAINING, CERTIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to make modifications to electrical, mechanical, and air diffusion systems
  • Ability to identify and communicate equipment improvement ideas to designers and engineers
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical controls and mechanical systems
  • Ability to operate industrial lifts including, but not limited to, forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Training and certification in Fall Protection
  • Training and certification in Electrical Safety
  • Confined Space experience
